Twitter MENFA - A small organisation that can make a big difference to your life !

Your skills, your experience and your commitment are invaluable
- not just to us, but to those we support.

MENFA depends on volunteers who find their own lives improved by meeting new people. We always need volunteers to speak to children and young people, and to work with them to help them succeed socially and academically.

Generally, mentoring involves pairing a learner with someone more senior and more experienced to give them support, encouragement and guidance. The key to mentoring is developing a one-to-one relationship, which is about personal growth as well as career advancement.

The Role of a Mentor

The specific role of a mentor can vary greatly, from helping new employees settle in, to providing assistance in education, to supporting isolated individuals. What is most important is that the mentor be someone a mentee can confide in, and ask for help when resolving a situation or making a decision. Read some of our previous mentors' testimonials here.

Mentor Training

MENFA offers a number of training courses that will enable you to become a mentor and gain a recognised qualification. These courses give you the chance to develop yourself, help others, and talk with our trained mentors who are there to practice their skills with you.

If you think you could make a difference as a mentor, we would love to hear from you. To contact us via email click here, or to find out more about our mentoring courses, click here.
