Twitter MENFA - A small organisation that can make a big difference to your life !

MENFA International was set up in Jamaica, Spanish Town, in 2007.

MENFA2MENFA recently established a training scheme for Level 2 Mentors in Spanish Town, Jamaica. MENFA did a three month training programme, aimed to equip students with the skills to meet the needs of mentees in their local area. 70 students completed level 2+3 NVQ mentoring training

On completion of the course, the students’ portfolios were given full accreditation by the Open Agored Cymru.

On January 18, 2008, the nineteen successful students were awarded MENFA certificates at a ceremony held at the church of Lighthouse Assembly Ministries, Spanish Town. The presentation was made by Mr H Henry, Management Specialist from the Ministry of Finance. MENFA founder Madge Thomas was also presented with a gift and a plaque in recognition for her work by Reverend and Mrs Edwards of Lighthouse Assembly Ministries.

MENFA plans to expand upon its success in Spanish Town, and has already began consultations on the MENFA Mentoring scheme at a comprehensive school, and teacher training college. Madge Thomas on two occasions met with the Rotary Club at the Hilton Hotel in Kingston. It is hoped that these and other organisations will work in partnership with MENFA to provide local mentoring facilities in the future.
